“It’s me in the middle, seeking balance. The  balance between having fun and working hard, making money.  The  waves of color are the emotions and the outside factors, the tasks and the criticisms both the good and bad. The waves are not just coming into me. They are going in all over. It all comes down to where you put the emotions and discovering what is best for me. Is this good or is that?  It’s me, becoming bolder, becoming able to take all the waves of emotion with patience.”

My client is a young twenty-something navigating through the world. She is questioning who she is and what she wants to do. She is searching for her authentic self, a self created not by cultural or parental pressures. In this inquiry, she feels out of control, “swaying in the disorder”.

The Red & Orange House relies on support from individual donors to maintain our work in hospitals and other healthcare facilities. Each gift brings another art-making experience to a patient’s bedside, their family sitting in a family surgical waiting room, a private home or a workshop. Donor benefits include a weekly subscription to our upcoming newsletter. You can share the powerful healing moments experienced by program participants and their families.

The Red & Orange House is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; all gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law.
